Gout is a painful inflammation of the joints and arthritis that can occur at any age but usually occurs in people over 60 years of age, usually only one joint at a time. It usually affects the knee and other affected joints, including the ankles, wrists, elbows and shoulders, because it is similar to gout. But with a different cause, it's called pseudogout, meaning pseudogout. About 5% of people over 60 have pseudogout.
