Bites are worrisome because they can infect both of them. The mouths of animals and humans carry many pathogens. Bites on the hands, forearms, lower legs, feet, and face are also more susceptible to infection. Human diseases such as hepatitis and HIV are more common. Rabies can be transmitted to others by bites. Bats, raccoons, foxes, and skunks can transmit rabies to others. Rabies is a serious and often fatal disease. Dogs, cats and farm animals do not usually cause rabies and rats (including rats) and rabbits do not carry rabies.
